The “Captain Vassilis and Carmen Constantakopoulos” Foundation, with the collaboration of the Messinian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, takes part in this year’s 8th Kalamata School of Tourism with a unique seminar aimed at food service and gastronomy professionals. The event will take place between November 19 and 22, 2018, in Kalamata.
The seminar is specifically aimed at owners, executives and employees in the food service and gastronomy industries. It comprises a theoretical and a practical part, and takes place on the event’s final day, Thursday November 22, 2018, between 9:20 am and 1:30 pm.
More specifically, the theoretical part includes talks by renowned professionals in the field on topics such as leadership in Athonian cuisine, gastronomy communities and destinations, developments and trends in branding and marketing of a modern restaurant, and the basic rules in food and wine flavor harmony. The practical part will follow, which includes a cooking workshop and demonstration of various techniques by renowned professionals in Messinia.
The aim of the seminar is to promote Messinian cuisine’s gastronomy heritage, and is part of the “Captain Vassilis and Carmen Constantakopoulos” Foundation’s strategy to establish Messinia as a model of sustainable development in a wide range of sectors (agricultural development, society, culture, environment).
