Instructions

Pour ½ cup of olive oil into a pan. Add a medium chopped onion and sauté.  Add a cup of trahana and stir with a wooden spoon. Add the chopped salted pork and grated tomato. Add salt and pepper. Finally, add 5 cups of boiled hot water. Stir until most of the liquid is absorbed. Serve warm with cheese.


Nutritional Value

The dish is rich in complex carbohydrates, fiber and various vitamins including B complex vitamins, which are responsible to a great extent for the healthy development of the human body. It also contains high amounts of minerals and trace elements such as manganese. Adding tomato provides a source of antioxidants.
